It started with friends
and a fair question.
More than a decade ago, a few good friends of ours – lounge owners, hoteliers and small distributors across the UK and Europe – kept running into the same wall. The big factories made beautiful things, but only by the container. The small suppliers took small orders, but the quality wandered. All they wanted was simple: lovely cigar accessories, in the quantities a real venue actually buys.
We were already here in Guangdong, working inside the factories they couldn’t reach. So we started helping — a few hundred matchboxes for one friend, a run of carrier bags for another, a first humidor cabinet for a bar in London. No minimums designed to frighten anyone off. No quality that depended on order size. Just the same care at five hundred units as at fifty thousand.
Friends told friends, and that quiet favour became Voluta Supply Co. The name comes from the voluta — the scroll of smoke rising from a resting cigar – because that is still the whole idea: the small, considered details that make a room feel right.
